I am skilled at motivating, communicating and advocating for clients dealing with mental and emotional disorders. My Masters in Educational Psychology concentrated on the school systems and Special Education needs. Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan USA. Masters in Mental Health Counseling completed at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, USA.
I completed my internship at University Hospital Pavilion in Ft. Lauderdale, where I managed individual cases, conducted group therapy as part of a team. I supported patients with anger management techniques, impulse control, and functional living skills. I applied an eclectic approach to therapy using various techniques that include psychodynamic, family systems and cognitive behavioral.
I lectured at School of Accounting and Management in Business Psychology and Sociology for students reading for a Bachelor's degree. I am a certified and license Administrator for an Assisted Living Facility in West Palm Beach, Florida. In my current position in substance abuse, clients are supported to explore their addiction in a non-judgemental manner.
I am currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program at Barry University where the direction of my professional life will change. The completion of this program will facilitate my future goals of teaching and advocating for those in need but is restricted.
